Please try again later.I walked into my local Sam's club, and they had a proform spin bike on the floor (looks identical other than color to my sunny), that had a computer attached. Ordered the 8 partly because I wanted Sat delivery with my prime membership, and just missed cut off for 5. However I also like the extra features the 8 had (timer specically). Having a metal flywheel, I just put the magnet facing in (which normally would face out, and then mounted the sensor, with double stick tape) to the front of the chain guard as closely as possible to the screw sticking out (I will try to add pictures, if I figure out how). The sensor is mounted so the tip points toward the wheel, instead of the flat side, kinda hard to explain. The bracket for the display is big enough even for the large handles on the spinner. So there you have it, I now know from the timer when I have completed 30 minute workout, and then can log my mileage on runkeeper. Only thing that would make it perfect, is if the display was alittle bigger.

down arrow doesn't signify a speed less than the average it's telling you that the display speed is higher than the average speed (or put another way the average speed is lower than the display speed. Get it?) Also mode indicator type size is too small for my tired eyes. Lastly my Vancouver-based son prefers km readout to mph--need to remove the display to make the switch. Picky, picky. Now that's an worthwhile investment. Built like a tank, easy to mount and set up, has a heavy duty cable connection which held up to all the bumps and bruises i encountered on the trails, and it dealt with weather and rough terrain in an exemplary fashion. Very tough, well built unit. Very easy to install but the only thing is the set-up instructions were hard to grasp. I finally got it, but maybe its just me!:-) For a mountain bike computer you can't go wrong purchasing this one! AdamI like the large display that shows miles per hour so you can follow 15 mph limit set along bike trails. You can also maintain your speed to effectively maximize calorie burning goals. After a week, see if you have travelled far enough, or better than your previous trips - there is an odometer, much like a car's odometer that just adds up miles as you go biking. You can leave your watch home if you have this. This Cateye (with cord) has friendly price for beginner-, or even professional-use; is reliable, and useful. Just take it off from the baseplate when parking, coz you don't want to lose this very important removable part while you're away.It works perfectly with no issues sometimes associated with wireless units and rechargeable LED lights. Since fitting it I have become more aware of my times reducing, average speed and how long I have been out. I no longer need to wear my watch while cycling.

The supplied wire was a little short and I had to splice a piece in but it's a simple two wire circuit and non directional (so to speak). This is a fantastic unit---easily visible even in sunlight. I like that I can see speed and trip milage on the same screen. Then I can push the button to see what my average speed or maximum speed has been and how much time I have spent (moving). The instructions are simple and easy to understand. What you have to do is 'set' the wheel circumference accurately and then the readouts are very, very accurate to.01 mile (or km). There are two trip meters and an odometer with shows accumulating milage. I've had one of the cateye models on another older bike for years---and the battery life on that one is fantastic----It was 5 years before it required to be changed---and changing batteries is very easy. I'd recommend this unit to anyone as a top of the line, very reliable, and durable unit. I've had other kinds before the Cateye---none of them can compare. The wire is extra thick compared to most wired computers and will hold up to some abuse. I have a bar mounted headlamp and it isn't possible to position a wireless computer far enough away from it to avoid interference. This wired model is completely interference proof and I can set up the bike cockpit as it makes sense to me and not interference restrictions. I have not had any issues with it coming out of sleep. Being wired, it does not require a button press to tell it to wake up.I wouldn't buy anything else. The Enduro 8 follows in that tradition. Particularly impressive with the Enduro is it's ability to very reliably pick up the signal with the sensor pickup attached to the suspension fork well in excess of the recommended distance from the spoke magnet. Nothing is perfect however i.e. the trend arrow reads non-intuitively i.e.

I am used to using the Mity 8 (which is no longer made), but this is the MTB version and uses heavy duty cable to the sensor.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again This Cateye had previous good reviews, which was the reason I purchased this model. It is of very good quality and took me 20mins to install. Highly recommend this productSorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again I've been using it for a couple of months and I like it.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again I have previously owned Specialized (lasted a year) and Trek (lasted a day) cycle computers. In contrast I have owned an Enduro 8 since about 2002 and it has offed faultless performance between road and mountain biking. It has also been one of the easiest cycle computers to use too. You will not be disappointed by this cycle computerSorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Easy to install, easy to use,has many functions(min, max, avg speed,2 trip distances, programmable for 2 bikes, nice display,clock,timer,auto-manual mode for everything). Overall i believe it's perfect for the average biker and a great value for money.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Mounting the Enduro 8 onto my bike was easy, the instructions reasonably clear and everything went together without any swearing on my part (unheared of in my house when it comes to assembling things!!). However. The instuction manual for actually using the thing might as well have been written by John Prescott as it made about as much sense as one of his speeches. Scrolling through the menus as I read just got me more confused.

Also, I have become far more aware of my fitness levels increasing - not what I bought it for, but what a bonus - and I can now do my circuits on the hilly and twisty Dartmoor lanes in an ever decreasing time; whilst enjoying the wonderful scenery even more. If I had to criticise it, which is hard, it would be to say that the buttons are a bit fiddly to operate using winter gloves; but that really is nit-picking. Overall an excellent computer, especially for the price. And will I be buying another for my wife's new tourer; you bet I will.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again It has handled the plunging winter temperatures well and stood up to the hammering rain too. The option to switch it between two different wheel sizes without re-setting the speedo is useful. The bracket it solid and the speedo clamps into it with a re-assuring 'clunk'. The wire leading to the receiver is about 3mm diameter but is no less pliable than the thin little ones you get on most other speedos. The Enduro speedo also worked on my other cateye Velo 5 clamp, so no need to buy another clamp. Which was nice. Cons: the instructions for setting it up took a bit of head scratching and, I had to resort to the internet to figure out how to switch it from km's to miles as it doesn't seem to explain it in the instructions. That's not really a reason for not buying one of these - it's just a minor inconvenience during set up.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Attaching the bits and pieces to the bike was easy and all items seem to be of good quality. The down side is that the instructions are as clear as mud!!!!! It's worth going on YouTube, enter name and model and look at the short videos - they make it so much easier to set up. A good product and worth considering.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again It is reliable and extremely good value.
